The future lights sparkling ahead...

The future lights sparkling ahead,
and we thought we would know
each other forever...

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

How happy is the blameless Vestal's lot!
The world forgetting, by the world forgot.
Eternal sun-shine of the spotless mind!
Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd.

Hate is baggage.
Life's too short to be pissed off all the time.
lt's just not worth it.

narratioin from 'Taken' 2

I don't know what will happen next.
I don't know what I'm going to be,
what I'm going to learn.
But what I do know is this.
Life, all life is about asking questions.
Not about knowing answers.
It is wanting to see what's over the next hill
that keeps us all going.
We have to keep asking questions,
wanting to understand.
Even when we know we'll never find the answers,
we have to keep on asking the questions.

narration from 'Taken' 1

You know in cartoons?
The way someone can run off
a cliff and they're fine.
And they don't fall until they look down.
My mum always said that was the secret of life.
Never look down.
But it's more than that.
It's not just about not looking.
It's about not ever realizing
that you're in the middle of the air
and you don't know how to fly.

Abraham Lincoln

On this day in 1858, Abraham Lincoln accepted the Illinois State Republican Convention's nomination as candidate for the US Senate. His acceptance speech included the famous phrase, "A house divided against itself cannot stand". He went on to debate admission of Kansas as a slave state with his opponent, Stephen Douglas, and though he lost the race for the Senate his speeches and debates propelled him into the national prominence that won the presidency two years later.
